About Me

We all have a story

This is what I've always wanted to do and be, however it took me until my mid 30's to take that leap of faith and set up in private practice.

After graduating with a degree in psychology and sociology, I then had a 12+ year career in Local Government Policy and Research, along with a good few years leading on National Strategy in the NHS and heading up Transformation for a large acute NHS Trust - all the while bringing up my daughter, who is now an adult herself.

It's fair to say that I've experienced *quite* a lot in my 40+ years. I’m a late discovered neurodivergent woman who has experienced life, loss, trauma, and adversity - and it’s those very experiences, and those differences and that diversity, that have gifted me my strengths, and that have filled me up with compassion.

I’ve been a young single parent, and now I’m a parent navigating life in the blender that is blended family life, and I’ve embarked on motherhood all over again so have 4 children across the age spectrum from 5 years old to 21 years old.

Back in 2014 I made the decision to change career and studied alongside working full-time to qualify as a psychotherapist.

By late 2015 I had created my ‘Bringing Sparkle Back Therapy’ as a judgement free space, full to the brim of compassion. It was my solution to something I had been looking for all my adult life but had yet to find.

Since then, I've been a part of hundreds of women’s stories and I've embarked on further study with a Masters in Psychology which I graduated from with Merit in 2022.

I'm forever grateful to the women who have sat in the dark with me, and put their faith in me to guide them to bringing sparkle back.

The women who were brave enough to say ‘I need some help to help me understand me’.

These are some of the most inspiring and courageous women I have ever met.

This is my passion and my speciality.

My Evidence Bank

I have known Catherine for several years.  Even from the very start of her training she has inspired me with her style, sense of purpose and humility.  I have watched almost mesmerised, but not surprised by her rise to the very top of the Psychotherapy profession. Almost unheard of was her award of a Fellowship of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists in no more than four years of private practice.

Director of NCIP

We invited Catherine to join our workshop as an expert speaker and she spoke from her personal and professional experience with great authority, compassion and clarity. She understood immediately what we wanted to get out of the session and worked closely with us to deliver an inspiring and enlightening interview. The client team thoroughly enjoyed hearing about her experiences, and many new understandings and ideas arose from this piece of work.
